We made this fragrant granola in Brunch class today. This is a great recipe because its simple to make with ingredients you already have in your pantry, plus it lasts a long time. It also makes a great Christmas gift. Most of the ingredients can be found at your local supermarket. Be sure to find steel cut whole oats and when purchasing make sure they don’t say “1-minute or instant”. It some supermarkets its almost impossible to find unless they are organic minded.
3 Steel cut Whole Oats
1/2 C Flax Seeds
1/2 C Coconut sprinkles or shards
1/2 Pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup Roasted pecans (chopped or un chopped)
Dried cranberries (or other dried fruit)
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with your hands with the exception of the dried cranberries. Bake at 315F oven for 40 mins on a half sheet tray with parchment or a silicone sheet. When done let cool then add the cranberries and taste. If it needs more sea salt add it. Will keep in a plastic container for up to 3 mos.
