Need a Chef began in 2008 as a way to promote local Hamptons chefs, along with the local farmers and purveyors they use.
Peter Cooke started the concept of Needachef in 2008 as a way to promote local chefs in the Hamptons and Long Island. Peter is a 1991 Graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and the Prestigious Charles MacPhearson Academy of Butlers and Household Managers in Toronto, Canada. Peter along with his detailed professional wife make a team who have managed and cooked at large estates in Watermill, New York as well on Southampton’s Meadow Lane. As a professional Estate Manager as well as chef, Peter will never mention the names of his clients as respect for the principal’s privacy.
Peter has worked in New York, Las Vegas, Long Island and the Hamptons before starting Needachef.com
The Cuisine is Farm to table, Ocean Table, Family Style or plated Brunch and Breakfasts.
Dinner is better than the local restaurant, fresher. Butter and cream are practically nonexistent. I shoot for a healthier, lighter, mostly gluten free menu based on local availability. Before menus are designed, all needs, likes, hates, must-have’s and allergies are addressed.
